What are the symptoms of COVID?
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Any student who displays a symptom whilst at school will be sent home and can only return with a negative test or having completed their isolation period.
What do I do with my test results?
Parents are asked to email email@example.com and/or ring the school 01708443068 (8am-4pm) or the school mobile phone 07493627279 4pm-8am to report cases. This will also ensure that we are notified of results over the weekend and so can respond quickly with no time lost. Both positive and Negative results will need to be shown to the school.
If anyone reports with a positive test results the school will contact the DfE’s helpline and be directed to the dedicated NHS advice team.
What will happen if the school has to partially or fully close?
We will take and follow all advice from the DFE and Public England as to the steps needed to keep the school community safe. This will be communicated to the staff, students and our community.
