Sanders Draper

“Pupils are happy and safe here. They appreciated being part of a school rooted in local history… Pupils valued their small school community where they are well known by staff and their peers. They enjoy caring professional relationships with staff. Staff have high expectations of pupils’ work and conduct.“

"The school is calm and orderly environment."

"Leaders have planned an ambitious curriculum for all pupils.. They build upon these important concepts each year. This careful sequencing helps pupils to build a deep body of knowledge in most subjects. Teachers give regular opportunities for pupils to revise prior learning, so that it is embedded."

"Pupils behave well in class and around the school. Disruption to learning is rare."

The support of our whole school community; children, families and the school is vitally important.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Sanders Draper family.

Mr S Brooks

This year (2023) we celebrated the 80th Anniversary of Sanders Draper day.  We came together to pay homage to Raimund Sanders Draper and the ultimate sacrifice he paid 80 years ago today.

As a school and local community we are understandably inspired by his brave actions. The school is now rightfully named Sanders Draper, the students, and staff are privileged to be able to continue to be inspired by his selfless actions.

Fittingly this year we opened a new plaque and memorial and will continue to keep Sanders Draper at the heart of the school and be a fitting and visible reminder of the values he stood for, for our students and visitors.

As a relatively small secondary school, we have the opportunity to know each of our students as individuals.

Family and friendship is at the heart of what we do and we understand children learn best when they are happy, safe and secure.

Our key values of Resilience, Achievement and Family guide us. Our students look 'To be the best I can be'
