The Sanders School is committed to a positive and productive partnership with a number of primary schools. Currently students come from over 30 different primary schools, the majority from Havering but also some from neighbouring boroughs.
There are a number of activities that take place throughout the year to support the excellent work of the primary schools and our primary colleagues which also helps develop understanding of the teaching and learning that takes place for a smooth transition from keys stage 2 to 3.
All departments contribute to some sort of primary school activity including regular Science workshops, History theatre groups, Modern Foreign Language support, Food Technology and Art lessons, Music clubs and numerous sporting events including inter primary school, competitions and a mini Olympics held annually.
There are also opportunities for students to enjoy activities on a Saturday morning with Saturday schools taking place throughout the year. These give primary students an added opportunity to explore different activities and enjoy different experiences.
Students and staff at Sanders feel they benefit enormously from the productive and effective work they do with their primary partners and are always looking for opportunities to build on this with new colleagues and other schools to give a broad and rich range of opportunities for young people.
